Cider House Rounders

The music of hard-living, close-knit folks straight from the porches, parlours, frolics and square dances of the rural South.

The Cider House Rounders hail from around the Bristol area, where they all met participating in the same pub session.

The music they play, however, originates from closer to Bristol, Tennessee being drawn from the traditional music of the Appalachians.

With the classic string band line-up of fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass they take old tunes and songs and work up new and sometimes surprising arrangements.

This is dance music, so dancer Jo Wright joins Derek Winter-Alsop, Mike Bostock, James Closs, David Mepsted and Gordon Prest to help raise the roof wherever they play.
