Marketing & Communications Officer
Petherton Arts Trust (PAT), The David Hall, South Petherton, TA13 5AA.
Hours: 12 hrs. per week for six months.
Rate: £16 per hour (equiv £30,868 pa)
This post is a 6 month contract funded through an Arts Council grant. It is hoped there may be scope for extension.
Purpose of the Role
To develop and advise on marketing strategies focused on maximising the impact and reach of PAT/The David Hall Events Programme. In particular this will focus on younger audiences (16-40) using a series of emerging talent events, to be scheduled over the period of the contract, to introduce and test new approaches. This requires an understanding of the successful Grassroots Music Award criteria and evaluation made by PAT.
Advise on targeted marketing to build programme recognition and increase and broaden audiences generally.
Work to improve online social media presence and reach across a number of platforms.
Monitor and analyse any measurable impact of new marketing strategies.
Review and advise on existing PAT fundraising programmes (200 Club/Friends of PAT)
Experience
.
- Proven experience of marketing arts events, in particular music events.
- Writing web copy, marketing material and press releases.
- Experience in developing and designing print material and brochures for different markets.
- A sound knowledge of using social media to increase reach and presence on social media platforms.
- Knowledge of social media analytics
- Experience of data collection and analysis.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote the six Emerging Talent events at The David Hall to attract new, younger audiences to The David Hall.
- Produce marketing materials to promote these events.
- Review social media output and advise on development and improvement in this area.
- Review and advise on The David Hall’s existing marketing, branding and digital strategy and advise on development and improvement.
- With others, ensure that traditional media is updated with event listings and editorial content, possible press releases and news stories. Particularly focused on the Emerging Talent events
- Support The David Hall administrator on the management of mailing lists.
- As far as possible ensure that the Petherton Arts Trust/The David Hall receives positive media coverage.
- Collect and analyse data on audience profile and marketing where possible.
- Advise on the overall branding of the venue, (brochure, letters, email, website, press releases etc).
Other Duties / Tasks

- Create and analyse customer surveys to establish satisfaction, recording results and reporting as required.
- Advise on further developing other PAT fundraising activities like the 200 Club and Friends of PAT
- Some evening working may be needed.
